Webinar on Wetland City Accreditation

The Wetland City Network Secretariat is holding a webinar to promote and share the activities of accredited Wetland Cities. The Accreditation is a great CEPA method, and worth considering for WWN members to approach their local mayors or governments. The Wetland City Network Secretariat writes:

We are happy to invite you to a Webinar on Wetland City Accreditation of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands which will be held on 22 May 2024 (Wednesday), 11:30 – 13:00 CEST via Zoom, co-organized by Amiens (Cumbent Chair of Wetland City Network) and RRC-EA (Wetland City Network Secretariat).

Wetland City Accreditation is a scheme under the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands to promote the conservation of wetlands in urban and peri-urban areas. Currently, 43 Wetland Cities have been officially accredited. This is the first webinar organized by Wetland City Network to promote the scheme and share the activities of Wetland Cities on the conservation of their urban wetlands.

Four Wetland Cities will show how the accreditation scheme helped the conservation of urban wetlands which will be followed by a brief introduction to the 2024 Mayors Roundtable meeting, an annual meeting among wetland cities which will be held in Dongying City, China.
