WWN’s Co-Chair, Chris Rostron, has welcomed Dr Musonda Mumba, Secretary General of the Convention on Wetlands, and Flore Lafaye de Micheaux, Europe Senior Regional Advisor for the Convention, to a UK parliamentary event run by WWT.

They supported a parliamentary event encouraging the UK government to create a national wetland strategy, and showcasing the work of WWT and the importance of the Convention on Wetlands.

Dr Mumba and the Chief Executive of WWT Tweeted about the visit:

They also visited the London Wetland Centre, where Dr Mumba had volunteered when she studied in London during the early 1990s.

Dr Mumba praised WWT’s work both in promoting the importance of wetlands and the Convention on Wetlands at national and international level, but also the international CEPA work that WWT does through WWN, Wetland Link International, and its Wetland Learning Hub.
