Working with the Society of Wetlands Scientists (Ramsar section) and the Wildfowl and Wetland Trust, we have now delivered the first part of the Global Wetland Survey, with responses from across the world, identify key issues for wetlands. A huge thanks to all those that took part!
We received over 600 response to the survey, of which 541 were usable, from 92 counties in seven different languages. This has given us a great source of rich information, which shows the knowledge and interest of local people about their wetlands. We have just started to analyse these results. In the next few months we will produce some more detailed reports, and we will also prepare for a side event at the next Rarmsar COP13 to talk about how the survey went, the results and lessons learnt.
